Imago Lift&Slide Door has been selected by the ADI Design Index for the prestigious Compasso d’Oro industry design award.
Imago is the first lift and slide door to be entered into the oldest and most influential international design award and joins an elite group of manufacturing giants to have been entered, including motorcycle company, Ducati.
The Compasso d’Oro Awards started in 1956 and was the first accolade of its type to recognise productive and customisable Italian design. Every year, ADI Design Index selects and publishes the most authentic and innovative products, considering the applied production processes and the materials used based on the selection chosen by the Italian ADI Permanent Observatory of Design.
AGB has been designing and manufacturing hardware for windows and doors as a family run business in Italy for more than 60 years. Its attitude to design and engineering is summed up in the company’s vision “technology must be beautifulâ€.
AGB’s hardware technology has put timber at the cutting edge of slim-frame lift and slide door design. The innovative new Imago Lift & Slide timber door system means companies can manufacture a frame visible thickness of just two centimetres, creating large span doors with a big glass area that frame the view.
With the potential for extreme weather conditions, consumers want a product that will not only let the light in, but firmly keep the weather out and is highly energy efficient. It’s not just left up to the glass to improve thermal efficiency with Imago Lift&Slide timber doors. The technology behind Imago means the complete door system is engineered to be highly energy efficient, which gives homeowners and architects the confidence to specify timber or aluminium clad timber doors.
